Sisterhood is powerful, giveaways & last weekend to pre-order MY LIFE IS A MOVIE

Hello all,

A couple brilliant projects are seeking funding, and I know you love to help out when you can. Tim Jones-Yelvington, lit diva extraordinaire and They Really Want You contributor, is going to make a series of songs combining lit theory and dance grooves. If you’ve heard any of Tim’s music then you know that it’s catchy, funny, smart and infinitely danceable. Help him build these songs and feel your heart/dance shoes grow heels: http://www.indiegogo.com/30yearstjy

Nextly, Fabulous Essential author/all-around trail-blazing genius Niina Pollari is co-editing an anthology of essays with also-wonderful Judy Berman called It’s Complicated. The book, and series of zines, explores feminism and its relationship to misogynist art- how and why we can love and engage with art that is troubling for us, too. Their Kickstarter has raised nearly 200% of its goal, which is incredible- just think of all the excellent stuff they can do with those funds! (Trust me, it will be excellent stuff.) You can contribute, and pre-order the first in a series of zines they’ll be making, here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/804253454/its-complicated-a-feminist-zine-on-loving-misogyni
Follow It’s Complicated on tumblr: itscomplicatedproject.tumblr.com

Lastly but never leastly, it’s the last weekend to pre-order Carina Finn’s MY LIFE IS  A MOVIE, soon-to-be-arriving-at-your-doorstep in strawberries and banana creme color scheme. Visit our etsy shop to pre-order and receive a DVD of films by Carina to boot!

Next week we’ll be announcing a series of giveaways to coincide with the release of MY LIFE…, which will include books from Kate Durbin and Magdalena Zurawski as well as Birds of Lace titles. Let’s make the end of June/July the summer months of giving.
