Finally, in its entirety, the video of Anna Joy Springer performing a section of The Birdwisher (Birds of Lace 2009) at the release party for the book on 3/6/10 (hosted by Mommy Mommy! Reading Series at compactspace in Los Angeles, CA). Anna Joy enlisted friends Julianna Snapper & Daniela Sea to act out the parts of Detective Geon and Mrs. Little; she also sang the song that appears in the book as text on pages 73-74 at the 12 minute mark. Thank you to everyone who made it out to the Relief Work party at Rose Live Music on Saturday night! Not only was crowd lovely, the venue wallpapered in beautiful floral prints, and the cupcakes tasty, but the readers were OUT OF THIS WORLD. BC Edwards, Richard Lawson, Jason Helm, Matthew Gallaway and Rohin Guha all brought their smart, strange, funny and brilliant words to the stage- it was truly a dream (and dreamy!) line-up. Extra special thanks to Nicole Steinberg & Earshot for hosting the event with grace, humor and energy.
